25 February 2025
Dear Parents / Carers
On Friday 7 March 2025, the school will be celebrating the 28th World Book Day and we would like to celebrate the benefits and joys of reading on this special day.
As part of this celebration of books, and alongside a range of literacy activities, staff and pupils are invited to wear costumes of their favourite story characters. We welcome anything home-made and encourage the pupils to be as creative as possible! If pupils do not wish to wear a costume, they are welcome to wear their own clothes, for a donation of £1.
Please note, the following items of clothing are not permitted and pupils will not be allowed to enter the school if wearing them and unable to change:
- Ripped jeans
- Crocs/Sliders
- Headgear including hats/caps/du-rags (unless it’s a genuine part of the character costume)
- Cropped tops
We very much hope you will support the school in encouraging your child to both strengthen their literacy skills and enhance their joy of books and reading.
Kind regards
Ms K Peck
